With the lockdown and the unfortunate and sad need to wear face masks at the moment, I decided to make some masks for my friends and family (I won’t be making these to sell). I found a great pattern on Instagram from Kim’s Kitchen Affair (thank you Kim!) and went digging for elastic in my sewing supplies!
I made a test mask to practise sewing the pattern which gave me a chance to use up some old fabric I’ve had hanging around for ages! Once I got the hang of the pattern, I made up some masks for my friends and family in their favourite fabrics. For my friends that like to wear their hair up and need to wear their masks for longer periods of time, I’ve made an extended bow with buttons on that the elastic can be attached to in order to save their ears!

I’m really happy with how these have turned out although I do hope we all won’t need to wear them for long.
